Yesterday, we had such an exciting field trip to The Grove in Glenview. We spent half of our day in a school house from the 1800's learning about behavior expectations and curriculum. We got to see what some of the schoolmarm punishments were like which was really fun. Also, every kid got to try writing a letter with ink and a quill. The second half of the day was spent in an old log cabin in which kids learned about the home life of our pioneers. They got to do some chores, see what the cooking was like, and make rope. It really made our social studies book come to life!
